6E5S

Russian indirectly heated electron-beam tuning indicator used to display receiver tuning or signal strength. Its fluorescent display and control-electrode response provide a visible indication rather than conventional tetrode voltage amplification.

Russian 6E5S (6Е5С) indirectly heated electron-beam fluorescent TUNING INDICATOR, not ordinary amplifier tetrode. Manufacturer description specifies indicator operation for visual tuning of radio/electronic equipment. Reported heater nominal 6.3 V 0.3 A, anode operating around 250 V and control/grid typical -4 V, anode current about 5.3 mA; summary gives control sensitivity/gain 24 (range 22–26) and transconductance 1.2 mA/V (range 0.8–1.6) but such indicator measurements must not be treated automatically as conventional tetrode intrinsic gm. Existing max_plate_voltage 250 V retained as approved; operating values documented separately. Eight-contact construction and available Russian reference should be reconciled with actual indicator basing in a separate base audit.
