Victoreen Instrument Co 5828, RMA Release #750 Apr 22 1949, March 1949 datasheet. Directly heated low-filament-power subminiature medium-mu triode intended for portable Geiger counters, cathode-follower preamplifiers, multivibrator pulse shaping and DC amplifiers; suggested replacement for VX-U1A high-mu triode connection. Filament nominal 1.25 V 10 mA, allowed 1.1–1.5 V, filament resistance 112–137 Ω (nominal 125 Ω). Max total cathode current 750 µA. At filament 1.25 V, plate 50 V, grid -0.5 V, plate current 400–700 µA; at grid -4.5 V, plate current <=1 µA. Minimum transconductance 400 µmhos = 0.0004 A/V under specified 50 V/-0.5 V conditions; amplification factor minimum 16, maximum 19. The 50 V plate value is a test operating point, not published max plate voltage. No conventional plate resistance or max plate dissipation stated. Four flexible leads with red identification dot, filament polarity and grid/plate connections shown in source diagram.
